Earle C. Anthony Graduate Student Travel Award
Fall 25 Application Period: July 1, 2025- October 16, 2025
Graduate Division is pleased to announce the availability of Earle C. Anthony Graduate Student Travel Awards for graduate students in:
Award Details:
Top-tier national or international scientific society meetings
One-time award: Once awarded any amount, students are not eligible for further funding from this program
Student Eligibility:
Currently enrolled and in good academic standing
Advanced to candidacy
No more than one year past normative time at degree completion
First author and presenter of the submitted research
Requires letter of recommendation from the Faculty Dissertation Mentor
An automated email will be sent to your Faculty Dissertation Mentor requesting a letter of recommendation.
Reimbursement Guidelines:
Reimbursed after travel is completed.
Students must submit the ECA Travel Expense Report:
Within 14 days of trip completion
OR within 5 business days of award notification (if travel occurred prior to the application deadline).
If also requesting GSA reimbursement:
Submit original documentation to GSA within 3 business days.
Allowable expenses:
Reasonable transportation costs
Registration fees
Application Timing:
Students may apply:
Before acceptance notification, but must later confirm the work was presented.
After travel, provided they apply by the next deadline following their trip.
Funds may only be used for the conference/meeting specified in the application.
Applications will be reviewed by the Graduate Council Fellowship Sub-Committee, and applicants will be notified of funding decisions about one month after the deadline.

UCR Emeriti Association Graduate Student Travel AwardFall 25 Application Period: July 1, 2025- October 16, 2025
The Graduate Division is pleased to announce the availability of the UCR Emeriti Association Graduate Student Travel Award for PhD students in any field who are traveling to: a. Present research at scholarly conferences ORb. Conduct dissertation research at another location.
Award Amounts:
Applicant Eligibility:
Be currently enrolled PhD students
Be in good academic standing
Have advanced to candidacy
Be no more than one year past normative time at degree completion
Not have previously received the:
Earle C. Anthony Graduate Student Travel Award (for presentation travel), OR
UCR Emeriti Association Graduate Student Travel Award
Award recipients must also:
Provide a written report AND
Make a make a brief presentation about the benefits of the funded travel at a UCR Emeriti Association Luncheon.
Application Categories:
a. Travel to Meeting/Conference:
Must be first author and presenter of submitted work
Reimbursement: Provided after travel upon submission of:
Official conference proceedings confirming presentation
Itemized expense list with original receipts (registration, hotel, airfare/transportation)
Submitted to Graduate Division (UOB 100) within:
14 days after trip conclusion, OR
5 business days of award notification (if travel occurred before the application deadline)
Note, if also requesting GSA reimbursement:
Original documentation must be submitted to GSA within 3 business days
Eligible expenses include:
Transportation costs
University per diem
b. Travel to Research Site/Location:
Must provide a documentation justifying the need and goals for planned research travel

Reimbursement: Same documentation and deadlines as category (a)
This deadline applies to both the application submission and letter of recommendation.
Applicants will be notified of award decisions approximately one month after the deadline.
Ask your faculty dissertation mentor to submit a one page letter stating (depending on the support type you are applying for) why (a) attending this meeting/conference is important to your professional development. Your mentor should include in the letter an explicit statement about the stature of this meeting/conference in your field OR why (b) visiting this research site is important to your dissertation research. Your mentor should include in the letter an explicit statement about the significance of this research site.
